Community health workers are crucial to the development and maintenance of healthy individuals and communities. Duties range from providing social support and informal counseling to advocating for community health needs. Community health workers may also provide blood pressure screenings or administer first aid. Carrington’s Health Studies program, which culminates in an Associate of Science Degree, provides an opportunity for individuals to build on prior education to earn the educational credential that is often needed for advancement.

I have received a 2002 Pinnacle Award in the city of Los Angeles for my community and civic pride demonstrated through outstanding personal achievement. I am a case manager here at Agape Love Community Center. I have a passion for helping others and watching them come out of the darkness and back into the light. I became a case manager because of my own experience through treatment and always have a lot of case management needs that could make or break me along this journey. I take pride in helping clients with their work, legal, and other issues so that they can focus on the core of their problems and get on the path to success in their recovery.

My specialties are trauma focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, working with special needs children and working with severe mental illness. I have experience working with special needs children’s autism, Tourette, Asperger’s, learning disability, underdeveloped social skills, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, mental health, substance use, relapse prevention plans, safety plans, and crisis response.
